Happy Friday Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 6465 grams (14 lb 4.0 oz) today, up 25 grams (0.9 oz) from yesterday's weight. My weight hasn't changed much over the past 7 days. I'm sure I'll get this gaining-weight thing squared away soon.
I was fed 8 times yesterday and I took 30 ml at each feeding. I received a total amount of 240 ml (8.1 oz) for the day. I took all my milk by tube. My last feeding was at 6PM and I was given 45 ml by tube. My nurse says I couldn't wake up even for my diaper change! I will try again later by mouth. My next feeding should be around 9 PM. Thank you so much for giving me breastmilk, Mommy. It really helps me! Since yesterday morning, I pooped 6 times and the last time was around noon.
As of 1 PM, I was on a nasal cannula with 100% oxygen.

I wasn't fed milk yesterday. Mommy, you should be proud of yourself for pumping breastmilk for me -- it's just great! I haven't pooped since yesterday morning, and the last time I went was around 9 AM on 8/27. Poop happens, but just not for me today. Maybe tomorrow.
As of 4 AM, I was on a nasal cannula with 100% oxygen.

I'm back.
After that nasty feeding tube installation and anesthesia I'm back. I put mommy, daddy and all of my grandparents through hell with all of their worrying. I'm now off the ventilator again and things are looking good.
Day 194
Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 6550 grams (14 lb 7.0 oz) today, unchanged from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 37.1 grams (1.3 oz) per day over the past 7 days. My nurse gave me a gold star for my weight gain.
I was fed 6 times yesterday and I took 90 ml at each feeding. I received a total amount of 540 ml (18.3 oz) for the day. I nipple fed 30% of my intake. My last feeding was at midnight and I took 10 ml by nipple and I was given 80 ml by tube. I'm so glad you're giving me breastmilk -- it's the best food for me! Since yesterday morning, I pooped once around 9 AM.
As of 6 AM, I was on a nasal cannula with 100% oxygen.

Aside from breastfeeding, I nipple fed 31% of my intake. My last feeding was at 6 AM and I took 15 ml by nipple and I was given 75 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 AM. Thanks for the breastmilk, Mommy. You're the only one who can help me in such a special way. I can feel myself growing!! Since yesterday morning, I pooped once around midnight.

Today is your half birthday! I can't begin to tell you how proud of you I am. In six months you have grown from a frail little 1 lb preemie to a big strong 13 lb infant. But once you learned how to gain weight that was never an issue for you again. You have learned how to breathe better and your lungs are getting stronger everyday. The only thing you haven't mastered yet is your bottles, but I've learned to be okay with that.
You teach me something new everyday. One of your most important lessons has been patience. Everything will come in time, I just need to wait longer than most mommies. But you're well worth the weight - pun intended :).
Take time to appreciate the little things in life. Your first cry, your first bottle, your first bath, the day you can breathe on your own. Little things to other mommies but so big to me.
I've learned how blessed I am to have a beautiful baby boy like you. As tough and trying as this journey has been I still wouldn't change a single thing.
You do need modern science because a mother's love cannot fix everything. But the truth is it certainly helps and it creates a bond that no one can break. Like I said before you DO know your mommy and you DO know I'm there.

Day 181
Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 6070 grams (13 lb 6.1 oz) today, up 75 grams (2.6 oz) from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 52.9 grams (1.9 oz) per day over the past 7 days. How about this weight gain? Aren't you proud of me?
I was fed 8 times yesterday and I took 90 ml at each feeding. I received a total amount of 720 ml (24.3 oz) for the day. I nipple fed 56% of my intake. My last feeding was at 6 AM and I took 10 ml by nipple and I was given 80 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 AM. Keep up the good work Mom -- I really appreciate that great breastmilk! I haven't pooped since yesterday morning, and the last time I went was around 3 AM on 8/14. I'm planning on pooping later today or tomorrow, and my nurse says that's just fine.
As of 6 AM, I was on a nasal cannula with 45% oxygen.

PS: I took 75ml at 9PM, 45ml at MN, and 70ml at 3AM. Diana said I did pretty well at 12 and 3, but at 6AM I was asleep with the bottle in mouth and only took 10ml in 25minutes.

I was fed 8 times yesterday and I took 80-120 ml at each feeding. I received a total amount of 720 ml (24.3 oz) for the day. I nipple fed 72% of my intake. My last feeding was at 6 AM and I took 67 ml by nipple and I was given 13 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 AM. Thank you so much for giving me breastmilk, Mommy. It really helps me! Since yesterday morning, I pooped once around 3 AM.
As of 6 AM, I was on a nasal cannula with 50% oxygen.

I was fed 8 times yesterday and I took 90 ml at each feeding. I also nursed once. I received a total amount of 720 ml (24.3 oz) for the day. Aside from breastfeeding, I nipple fed 62% of my intake. My last feeding was at 6 AM and I took 45 ml by nipple and I was given 45 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 AM. I'm so glad you're giving me breastmilk -- it's the best food for me! I was fed 7 times yesterday and I took 70-150 ml at each feeding. I received a total amount of 720 ml for the day. A fluid oz is about 30 ml so this is about 24.3 oz. I nipple fed 74% of my intake. My last feeding was at 6 AM and I took 75 ml by nipple and I was given 25 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 AM. Mommy, you should be proud of yourself for pumping breastmilk for me -- it's just great! Since yesterday morning, I pooped once around 1 AM.

I miss mommy
Mommy camped out at the hospital on Monday night and spent over 24 hrs with me around the clock. She helped me with my bottles since I eat best for her and Daddy. It worked because they changed my feeding schedule. Now hopefully I can learn what it feels like to be hungry. I had so much fun with her. I was even able to take a nap on her! Mommy said I'll be able to that a lot when I get home.
