Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 2565 grams (5 lb 10.5 oz) today, down 5 grams (0.2 oz) from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 32.1 grams (1.1 oz) per day over the past 7 days. How about this weight gain? Aren't you proud of me?
I was fed 8 times yesterday and I took 53-55 ml at each feeding. I received a total amount of 438 ml for the day. A fluid oz is about 30 ml so this is about 14.8 oz. I nipple fed 5% of my intake. My last feeding was at 6 AM and I was given 55 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 AM. Thanks for the milk Mommy, it really helps me grow! Since yesterday morning, I pooped twice and the last time was around 3 AM.
As of 6 AM, I was on a high flow nasal cannula with 28% oxygen.

100 DAYS!!!!!!!
Today marks the days that I have been fighting outside of Mommy's body for 100 days. To be specific, it will not start until 4:04 PM Eastern Standard Time. So all of you on the west coast remember to begin your celebration at 1:04.
100 days! OJ got lees than that for murder. Wait he didn't do any time for murder. Lindsey Loghman got less time for all of her stunts. But me I'm stuck for over 100 days.
100 days! Mommy tells me that in school it's a big celebration. 100 of everything. 100 days is a very long time in my short life. Wait, it is my entire life.
100 days without seeing the light of day, smelling the fresh air, feeling the sand between my toes or the cool breeze at the Jersey Shore. Yes, I know that's where a lot of you will be this weekend.

They put me back in the box.
After only 1 week they took my crib away and put me back in this darn box :,( Why are you punishing me? What did I do wrong. Nobody puts baby in the corner! Haven't you seen Dirty Dancing? Look at me, I look silly. Isn't there a weight limit on this thing?

Hunger strike
Well my buddy with almost the same birthday as me was forced on a diet. I don't know why but they took all of his bottles away. We are officially the oldest 2 babies in here and we must stick together. They must respect us! Mommy tried to feed me last night after my bath and I refused. I'll show them, I'm on a hunger strike! Little did I know that they'd just turn around and put it in my tube. Oh the agony! I guess they showed me. :(

Happy 3 month birthday little man!
Mommy calls me her little man. She says that I'm a man now because I'm so mature. I've endured more in my 3 short months than many people do in a lifetime. She says I'm her hero.
Get out the tissues because here is my month in review.
I have not only tripled but quadrupled my weight. It takes most people years to do this. And I just needed 3 months to do it!
I was finally taken off the ventilator this month. Good bye and good riddens!
I was moved to the smaller room.
I got to meet my sister for the first time and I learned what it's like for all of the women in my life to hold me.
I started trying to eat by mouth.
Today I was moved to a big boy crib. It also came with a prime window seat so now you can all admire me from the other side of the glass.
But the most important thing I did this month was give my mommy her first and best mothers day ever! I love you.
Stay tuned next month for the next chapter in my amazing life.

Kangaroo a thon 2012
May 15 2012 is the first annual International Kangaroo Care Awareness Day. Mommy and Daddy get raffle tickets for every time they hold me. Hopefully they will win the prize! During the next 2 weeks you'll see lots of pictures of me in their shirts.

My last feeding was at 6 am and i was given 40 ml by tube. My next feeding should be around 9 am. Thank you do much for the breastmilk Mommy! I love it! Since yesterday morning, I pooped 3 times and the last time was around 4 AM.
As of 6 AM, I was on a high flow nasal cannula with 30% oxygen.

Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 1980 grams (4 lb 5.8 oz) today, up 35 grams (1.2oz) from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 30.7 grams (1.1 oz) per day over the past 7 days. You should be impressed by the weight I'm gaining. Everyone is complimenting me for the great job I'm doing.

Emily came and visited me today. Now that i am in a new room she can visit. When mom and dad told me I had a sister I was thinking she would be my size or at the very most the size of the big babies. Surprise to me when she came in and she is almost as big as mommy and daddy.

My first bottle
Today was my first feeding by mouth. What a Mother's Day present for Mommy! When she came this afternoon she asked my doctor when I would be getting a bottle. My doctor asked how I was sucking and swallowing. Of course Mommy was able to give her a good report. They turned off my feedings for an hour and then the nurse gave me a bottle at 3:00. I took 5 ccs. Not bad for my first bottle.

Where is my sister
I am in the step up room now my sister can see and hold me. It did not look like they were going to move me today but then 23 week old twins needed my spot and I got moved. Mommy and daddy were so surprised when they came tonight to see me in my new room. So surprised they did not bring Emily. So this brings me back to my original thought. Where is my BIG SISTER???????

When mommy came yesterday afternoon she commented on how dirty I was. The nurse said I could have a big boy bath. When you're on a ventilator you can't do these things. I received feedings by pump yesterday at a rate of 11 ml/hr and I received a total amount of 253 ml (8.6 oz) for the day. I took all my milk by tube. My last feeding was at 7 AM. Day 78
Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 1600 grams (3 lb 8.4 oz) today, up 75 grams (2.6 oz) from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 22.1 grams (0.8 oz) per day over the past 7 days. This is a fine weight gain. I'm on the right track.
I received feedings by pump yesterday at a rate of 11 ml/hr and I received a total amount of 242 ml (8.2 oz) for the day. I took all my milk by tube. Mommy, you should be proud of yourself for pumping breastmilk for me -- it's just great! Since yesterday morning, I pooped once around 4 PM.
As of 5 AM, I was on a mechanical ventilator with 43% oxygen.

Day 77
Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 1525 grams (3 lb 5.8 oz) today, down 45 grams (1.6 oz) from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 22.9 grams (0.8 oz) per day over the past 7 days. How about this weight gain? Did you ever know anyone who gained so well?

I can't figure out when my next feeding will be, so check with my nurse. Thanks for the breastmilk, Mommy. You're the only one who can help me in such a special way. I can feel myself growing!! Since yesterday morning, I pooped 5 times and the last time was around 4 AM.
As of 5 AM, I was on a mechanical ventilator with 31% oxygen.

Day 76
Good morning Mommy and Daddy! I weigh 1570 grams (3 lb 7.4 oz) today, up 85 grams (3.0 oz) from yesterday's weight. I gained an average of 22.9 grams (0.8 oz) per day over the past 7 days. I'm getting bigger and bigger day by day. Pretty soon I'll need some new clothes. Be sure to get me some good looking stuff!
